Hope and Help from God's Word
Why another book about God's Word?
There are two reasons I am writing this book. The first has to do with the fact that no matter where you go today in America, it is nearly impossible to escape the bombardment of our modern society's anti-biblical values found in books, magazines, newspapers, radio, TV, theatres, and the internet. Our culture abounds with multimedia of every imagninable sort, attempting to influence our thinking, priorities, and actions. If you were to listen to even a tiny fraction of what they are saying, you would be thoroughly lost, confused, and lacking any source of real hope. How I long to hear words that encourage, give much-needed direction, and remind me that my heavenly Father is a loving, sovereign God!
There is Good News
The good news is, Christians have been given an incredible treasure. We have a vast wealth of encouragement, hope, and guidance in the Word of God. And just think, unlike the many wonderful books, songs, and movies that in a variety of ways point us to our Creator God, or our Redeemer Jesus, only the Holy Scriptures come with a promise--His Word is inerrant, infallible, and the only authoritative source of truth. To avail ourselves of the life He offers us in His Word is unmatched by our access to other source. How rich we truly are!
The second reason I am writing this book is that as much as I need to have my hope grounded in God's glorious promises for His people, I know there are other believers out there who need the same encouragement as I do. It is my desire that you will find that God in His Word is more than enough for every trial or hardship you face. May He give you grace and help in time of need, and may these verses give you a tremendous sense of hope and help as you stand on His promises.
